Road works and traffic management

From 7 June to 29 September 2010, maintenance work will be carried out on the Viaduc du Fayet.

 The right lane will be closed for 0.5km in each direction

From July to December 2010: traffic islands will be constructed near the emergency call boxes

 From 26 July to 13 August: 3 traffic islands will be constructed in Collonges and Archamps in the Geneva - Paris direction
 From 16 August to 10 September: 3 traffic islands will be constructed in Arenthon in the Chamonix - Geneva direction
 From 13 to 24 September: 2 new traffic islands will be constructed before and after the no. 15 "Vallee Verte" interchange in the Geneva - Chamonix direction.
 October and November: 5 traffic islands will be constructed in Étrembières in both directions At certain times the right lane will be closed from 10am to 6pm

From 9 August to 10 September 2010: waterproofing work will be carried out on a bridge near the village of Magland

 Traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions for 3km

From 6 September to 15 October 2010: improvement and maintenance work will be carried out in the Vuache Tunnel

 It will be reduced to a single lane in both tunnels

19 September 2010: safety exercise in the Vuache Tunnel

 The A40 between Saint-Julien-en-Genevois and Bellegarde will be closed in both directions from 6am to 2pm.
