Road works and traffic restrictions

The Mont Blanc Tunnel is open 24 hours every day of the year except the dates indicated below:

Mont Blanc Tunnel : scheduled closures

In order to allow maintenance works to be carried out, the traffic in the tunnel will be completely interrupted during the following night:

 on Monday 13th September 2010, from 10.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m.,

For purposes of conducting maintenance work, the movement to the Mont Blanc Tunnel will be rotating from 10.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m. :

 20, 21, 22 and 23
 27, 28, 29 and 30

October

 4, 5, 6 and 7
 11, 12, 13 and 14
 18, 19, 20 and 21
 25, 26, 27 and 28

When works in the tunnel are carried out, further speed limits are imposed near the yards, in order to protect the yards as well as the people at work.

Transit of the exceptional convoys

The transit of the exceptional convoys of August 23 to December 3, 2010, in conséquense of work which will be carried out in the galleries located on the A5 motorway, southern roadways and north (Southern Courmayeur section - Western Aoste), the transit of the exceptional convoys of a width higher than 3,80 m will be prohibited.

For this period, the transit of the exceptional convoys concerned will be authorized only night, saturdays of 1h00 with 5h00 of the morning or Monday of 01h00 with 05h00 of the morning.

In addition, in consequence of work carried on RN 205 (Le Fayet-La Vigie), the transit of exceptionnal convoys higher than 4 m will be prohibited in the sense Italie to France from August 30 to December 15, 2010.
